Tour Operator based in Cape Town.
Job Description
- Support the global cruise DMC’s and legal team in negotiating contracts with cruise lines to determine the best outcome for the company.
- Lead the project to consolidate cruise contracts, so there is one global contract / set of T&Cs for each cruise line.
- Undertaking financial analysis to help the relevant teams understand and improve the margins they generate and to also determine which what each contract is “worth” to the company.
- Collecting, monitoring, and studying data (internal & external) to recommend appropriate actions where necessary, particularly in relation to pricing.
- Support senior management and cruise operational teams on a wide range of issues, including commercial agreements, risk management, contract administration and accident/incident reports.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as finance, global cruise operations and marketing to achieve business goals while mitigating legal and commercial risks.
- Utilize data to develop and implement strategies to optimize best commercial outcomes to support business objectives for global cruise activities.
- Stay updated on cruise industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to proactively address commercial challenges and opportunities.
- Conduct research and analysis, to produce market reports for the cruise teams as required, providing recommendations and solutions to commercial issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cruise industry partners and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Matric Certificate Bachelors’ Degree or Diploma in Business Management or related field.
Skills
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial management including financial analysis, preferably within the cruise or travel industry, and for a global or multi-national corporation.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks effectively.·
- Strategic thinker with a proactive and solution-orientated approach.
- Excellent English communication and negotiation abilities – both written & verbal.
- Familiarity with cruise industry regulations and practices is an advantage.
- A strong work ethic, with time management and prioritisation skills to effectively to do what is required to get the job done.
- The ability to work well under pressure either independently or within a team environment.
- Can handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- An inquisitive, analytical, and enquiring mind.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Integrity, openness, and honesty.
- The ability to travel globally, if required.
