Working in conjunction with all relevant stakeholders within the business, the commercial team are central to the work to ensure we meet these challenges.
POSITION OVERVIEW: The establishment of a commercial team within our product division is an ongoing and transitionary process and will always require flexibility and pivoting within the wider division to succeed. Directly reporting to the Head of Commercial, Product and Technology, this is an opportunity to build within the team a level of commercial specialisation and expertise that is proactive and agile in responding to optimisation of pricing and revenue protection.
The ideal candidate will have commercial pricing / revenue experience within the supply and/or distribution chain across South & Southern Africa. The ability to interpret data to analyse pricing, trends, opportunities and protect revenue across multiple procurement and distribution channels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide the key stakeholders within the business with the relevant data and analysis to ensure that followme2AFRICA delivers rates and partnership deals that place them in strongest of positions with a complex and dynamically driven, multi-channel distribution chain.
- Identify opportunities to optimise margin and pricing across a wide portfolio of supply and within the confines of customer commercial agreement.
- Ensure commercial aspects of customer and supplier agreements align and are monitored to optimise performance.
- Monitor sales and trends to assess performance or identify opportunities for tactical activity.
- Build a strong MO and workflow to monitor pricing, revenue protection and fast responses to customer price challenges.
- Identify and develop tech and reporting solutions to optimise efficiency, costs and enhance the speed of results to market.
- Oversee and monitor distribution within the XML/API architecture to ensure 365/24/7 distribution of multiple rate types, offers and allocation.
- Provide pricing expertise in the development of new and existing products and services by followme2AFRICA.
- Develop and lead a small team with specialist knowledge and skills within the framework of our Mission Statement and Core Values.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
This is commercially focused role that closely aligns with product and client partnership.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a revenue, pricing environment within either the supply chain (accommodation/ transport) or within a DMC with an active engagement within multiple (Static/Dynamic) rate distribution (XML/API/Channel Management).
- Ability to demonstrate a logical, objective approach to commercial challenges and deliver on strategic plans.
- Junior or Middle management leadership experience or ability to demonstrate this would be the next step within your career.
