Val du Charron Wine and Leisure Estate
Val du Charron Wine & Leisure Estate (VDC) is located on a working vineyard with its own cellar ten minutes from the town of Wellington and under an hour’s drive from Cape Town. Offering 5 and 4 star accommodation, two restaurants, MTB and running trails all in the heart of the Winelands, VDC is an ideal location to savour the culture of South African wine making and its products.
The farm is 42 hectares in size and consists of 21 hectares of vineyards, 4½ hectares of olives and a 400t cellar. Our cellar produces handcrafted premium red and white wines for export. Val du Charron combines the rich traditions and natural beauty of the area with modern day comforts and technology to produce not only superb wines but an experience for our guests to remember.
The Guesthouse
The Guesthouse is consists 20 luxurious suites each with a balcony or patio. We also have one room without a balcony that may be booked on request.
The Coach House
The Coach house is an exclusive winelands getaway for the discerning guest who values their privacy.
Consisting of only three spacious suites each with its own plunge pool and private patio with built in fireplace, guests can unwind in their own space overlooking the majestic wine lands and mountains.
Each of the three supersize rooms is en suite with bathrooms containing spa baths and a shower for two.
Stunning design elements such as the natural stone flooring that flows from the pool through the rooms and the breath-taking stained glass window features integrate with the room’s modern comforts such as complimentary mini bar, free wifi, flat screen TV and Netflix.
The Manor House
With a commanding view of Hawekwa mountains, the Manor House offers guests complete privacy with every detail for the ultimate comfort considered. The space is ideally suited to honeymooners or families looking for a luxurious, private and relaxing holiday experience.
The Manor dates back to 1699 but the interiors have been entirely overhauled to turn a modern country escape into one of the most decadent accommodation experiences in the Wellington Winelands. The property is spacious and striking, with indoor space, and 0.5 Hectares of open space including the landscaped gardens and 12.5m pool.
The Manor House can accommodate 4 adults and 2 under 7’s sharing with parents. The main house features two en-suite bedrooms. The private dining and living space in the Manor House features a formal lounge with large fireplace (ideal for pre- or post-dinner drinks), a large dining room, expansive balcony with fire place ideal for outdoor living, a games room with pool table and flat screen TV, fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable TV room with a widescreen smart TV and wood-burning fireplace.
Day trips to Val du Charron
Val du Charron can easily accommodate tour busses for tastings, vineyard tours, cellar tours and meals. We have a big parking lot where a coach can easily turn around.
We also offer conferencing facilities. With two on site restaurants, visitors have a choice of culinary delights.

These world class trails allow both mountain bikers and trail runners to enjoy some of the finest single tracks in the world. Wellington is host to the Cape Epic and the race often traverses Val du Charron. With 6 routes starting from VDC there are excellent opportunities for novice as well as skilled riders.
